The FDA granted a 510(k) clearance on Aug. 10 to Arineta’s SpotLight CT scanner. Arineta, which is based in Israel, said in a news release that imaging experts and cardiologists designed the cardiovascular-dedicated SpotLight CT scanner.

GE Healthcare announced on Jan. 12 that it would move its headquarters to Chicago effective in early 2016. The headquarters are currently in Amersham, United Kingdom.

Boston Scientific announced on Nov. 10 that it had agreed to acquire the interventional radiology business of CeloNova Biosciences. Boston Scientific said it would pay $70 million upfront and then make additional payments based on regulatory and sales milestones.

For the third quarter of 2015, Philips had comparable overall sales growth of 2 percent compared with the same quarter a year earlier. Comparable sales in its healthcare sector increased 3 percent, including mid-single-digit growth in its imaging systems group.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services approved the Lumason contrast agent (Bracco Diagnostics) on Oct. 12 and granted it pass-through status under the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System.
