Qioptiq Introduces SlimLine Camera Lens System for Mobile X-Ray C-Arms

Feldkirchen, Germany, March 3, 2017 – Qioptiq, an Excelitas Technologies® Company and global technology leader in delivering innovative optical and photonic solutions, introduces SlimLine™, a compact, turnkey camera system for integration with mobile X-ray C-arms to deliver high-end quality at an economical entry price. SlimLine is a design-to-cost OEM product consisting of the SlimLine lens assembly optimized for the QioCam X-ray camera.

The SlimLine lens assembly offers a high-performance combination of optics (lens elements), mechanics (housing, flange), and electronics (motor control board for Iris communication). The QioCam X-ray camera is based on latest CMOS technology. Together, the SlimLine system provides a complete lens and camera solution for mobile C-arm OEMs.

The SlimLine lens assembly can be used with all 9” and 12” image intensifiers from Thales, Toshiba or Siemens. The motion control board for Iris communication works with different interfaces such as SPI and GigE.

“Affordability is a key challenge for mobile C-arm manufacturers,” said Oliver Neutert, Excelitas’ Regional Marketing Manager EMEA. “To stay competitive, they’re having to balance a need for high-quality technology and performance with optimized component costs. Recognizing this need, Qioptiq developed the SlimLine system based on CMOS technology, making it much more affordable than existing products that rely on semiconductor charge-coupled devices (CCD).”

SlimLine is offered as a standard product that can also be customized by OEMs to meet specific application requirements.
