Fujifilm Continues to Advance VNA Technology and Interoperability at HIMSS 2016

Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. continues to expand its healthcare IT portfolio, and is taking Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) into new areas with Synapse VNA 6.0 at the Healthcare Informatics Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2016 conference and exhibition held February 29- March 4, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fujifilm will also showcase the SonoSite iViz, its latest ultrasound solution in advancing Fujifilm’s integration of ultrasound with medical IT.

“Fujifilm truly owns the VNA space and continues to be a technology trailblazer,” said Johann Fernando, Ph.D., chief operating officer at Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. “The most robust solution on the market, Synapse VNA is helping healthcare providers transform their operations, achieve Meaningful Use, and deliver better patient- centric care—all while getting a bigger return on their technology investment.”

Synapse VNA manages all enterprise clinical imaging content, both DICOM and non- DICOM, using the most scalable single storage solution available. Equipped with advanced life cycle management tools, it offers organizations the ability to secure and enable control of all image data across the enterprise. A true enterprise imaging solution, Synapse VNA allows users to connect imaging content from more specialty clinical areas than any other system. It also features an enterprise viewer that provides a single patient-centric view across the entire continuum of care.

INTEGRIS Health eliminated downtimes with the deployment of Synapse VNA. The nine-hospital system had multiple different PACS, various archives, and was experiencing ongoing unavailability of relevant prior studies.

“It was like managing 5 or 6 different PACS at once, all with their own idiosyncrasies’ and problems which would have a domino effect across the other PACS, so we’d have

multiple downtimes a month,” said Dax Ewbank, Enterprise Solutions Architect at INTEGRIS Health. “As we were able to consolidate and re-architect our PACS with Synapse VNA as a solid foundation, it made management of our PACS a lot easier, a lot more purposeful, and we no longer experience infrastructure-related downtimes.”

"Fujifilm is also proud to feature the highly mobile SonoSite iViz at HIMSS. iViz is the first ultrasound system in the industry, to provide bi-directional communication with EMRs via the FUJIFILM TeraMedica Synapse EMR gateway,” Diku Mandavia, MD, FACEP, FRCPC, chief medical officer and senior vice president, FUJIFILM SonoSite, Inc. and FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. “iViz combines superior image quality with unparalleled connectivity, giving clinicians immediate access to information needed to address their patients' needs."
