Zimmer Biomet acquires Clinical Graphics, adds 3D range-of-motion platform for hip treatments

Zimmer Biomet Holdings has acquired Clinical Graphics, a company focused on imaging of 3D range-of-motion simulation technology for hip treatments.

Zimmer plans to incorporate the 3D range-of-motion imaging platform into its existing hip treatments to increase the technology available on its systems. The 3D platform is capable of treating hip conditions such as femoroacetabular impingement and dysplasia, as well as giving physicians a plan on what treatment is best for the patient based on the images that give an entire view of the hip from all angles. These images allow for more personalized and direct care because physicians are able to view the hip as a 3D image, rather than in two dimensions.

"3D imaging represents the next generation of treating joint pain, and we're excited to team up with Clinical Graphics and integrate our technologies to further enhance the clinical utility of our market leading hip portfolio," said Dan Williamson, Group President, Joint Reconstruction for Zimmer Biomet.
