The American College of Radiology (ACR) announced Tuesday that it has developed a “contrast reaction card” to help with the management of acute reactions to contrast material.
The card is being provided as an additional tool that goes with the ACR Manual on Contrast Media. It includes information on “common and serious contrast reactions.”
“Managing contrast reactions is a necessary, important and stressful part of a radiologist's job,” said Matthew Davenport, MD, chair of the ACR Committee on Drugs and Contrast Media, in a prepared statement. “In the heat of the moment it can be difficult to remember critical details like the dose of epinephrine. This card can help improve that process.”
The card, about the size of a driver’s license, is available to be printed on the ACR’s website in both portrait and landscape formats.
