AMI, Olympic Radiology merge, sell centers to CHI Franciscan

A merger between Advanced Medical Imaging (AMI), Silverton, Wash., and Olympic Radiology, Bremerton, Wash., has resulted in an integrated 13-radiologist practice called Olympic Medical Imaging Consultants.

In an arrangement that implies tighter alignment with Harrison Medical Center, previously served by both practices, AMI and Olympic have sold their five outpatient imaging centers to CHI Franciscan Harrison Medical Center, which will operate the centers as Harrison Imaging Centers, according to an article in the local Bremerton Patriot.

“Our shared values and commitment to exceptional health care, will allow us to work together to better serve residents throughout the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas,” said David Schultz, president of CHI Franciscan Health Harrison Medical Center, in a press release.

The new practice will continue to serve Harrison Medical Center and the five imaging centers, while staff will become employees of Harrison.

“Harrison’s acquisition of AMI and Olympic Radiology offers opportunities to leverage expertise, streamline services, and invest in new technology,” Matt Shutske, MD, managing member of Olympic Medical Imaging Consultants, said in a press release. “Our goal is to continually improve diagnostic imaging services for our patients on the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas.”

According to the article, the centers will be contracted with all Harrison payors and charges for technical and professional services will remain the same.
