Director of radiology looks back at 41 years with NC health system

Earlier this summer, Tim Jones retired as director of radiology and cardiovascular services at Iredell Health System in Statesville, N.C. He had been with the system for 41 years. Jones reflected on that time in a Q&A interview with the Statesville Record & Landmark.

During the interview, Jones looked back on how medical imaging has changed over the years since he first arrived at Iredell Memorial Hospital in 1976. “Radiology has developed into an area that is totally immersed in the practice of medicine,” he said. “General X-ray had been an integral part of healthcare for many decades. We saw Nuclear Medicine Ultrasound and CT scanning become part of the norm in the '80s. We were involved with MRI coming to Iredell County.”

Jones also discussed accomplishments made during his time at Iredell Memorial Hospital and what he’ll miss now that he has decided to retire.
