Kaiser Permanente has started off 2017 with a fresh start, as they opened up three new medical offices in California to offer services including general radiology, mammography and mental health.
Current members who have since received their medical services at nearby counties are now able to get care in Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley and Watsonville.
"These medical offices are designed to enhance our members' care experience by using technology and space to make receiving medical care easier, more convenient and focused on choice," said Irene Chavez, Kaiser Permanente senior vice president and area manager in a statment. "For example, our exam rooms feature 40-inch screens to facilitate real-time video conferences with specialists, translation services, and health education."
All three locations are also adopting a local theme, providing members with a decorative touch of Santa Cruz that include surfboards and murals by local artists.
"The majority of the Kaiser Permanente primary care physicians practicing in Santa Cruz County actually already live in the community," said Raj Bhandari, MD, physician-in-chief for Kaiser Permanente in a press release. "They know this area well and are looking forward to working in the same community where they live."
