De’Aaron Fox, an NBA point guard who plays for the Sacramento Kings, and his mom, Lorraine Harris-Fox, are hosting an event May 12 at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, to promote breast cancer awareness.
Harris-Fox was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2000, but has now been cancer free for 18 years, according to a report from The Undefeated.
The event will allow women and their families to learn more about breast cancer and the various treatment options available. Many of the women attending have overcome breast cancer. There will also be activities for kids and a friendly basketball game, with kids on one team and moms on the other.
“Fox wants everyone to have fun going through drills and for the kids to walk away with a better understanding of what their mothers or loved ones are going through,” wrote author Rhiannon Walker.
