GE Healthcare partners with cloud imaging provider

The picture archiving and communications (PACS) industry has drastically evolved since the first papers describing a workstation for picture communication were published in the late 1970s. While it wasn’t until the 1990s that a filmless radiology department became a reality, PACS changed the practice of radiology forever.

While departmental PACS systems used to be the norm, they are being rapidly replaced by enterprise PACS systems, such as the one developed by Trice Imaging. The California-based imaging solutions provider has recently partnered with GE Healthcare in a deal that will bring Trice’s cloud-based imaging system to select GE scanners.
