Thanks to contributions from more than 400 donors and support from the Ascension Wisconsin health system, Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, will be opening a new Breast Care Center later this year.
The hospital reached its goal of $4 million in less than two years, according to a report from the Stevens Point City Times.
The new center will cover more than 7,000 square feet and include new digital breast tomosynthesis equipment, new ultrasound equipment and more. In addition, some of the raised funds are being set aside to support the Angel Fund, which assists women who are unable to afford mammograms.
