Agfa Healthcare to provide enterprise imaging platform to Australia’s ACT Health

Agfa Healthcare announced it has signed a three-plus-four-year contract to provide its enterprise imaging platform to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Health, which covers patients throughout Australia. Several solutions are involved in the contract, including Enterprise Imaging for Radiology, the XERO universal image viewer, Enterprise Imaging Business Intelligence and more.

Jamie Osmond, Agfa Healthcare Oceania national sales manager, said in a prepared statement that the contract covers connectivity to “more than 60 modalities and the migration of three million studies.”

“With this solution, we aim to help the network hospitals to image-enable the electronic health record, and improve workflow and clinical productivity,” Osmond said. “The agreement with ACT aims to also streamline the system administration to reduce costs, improve staff mobility, improve the network’s Business Analytics, and support the teaching facility’s academic workflows.”

Mark Duggan, ACT Health medical imaging manager, said in the same statement that the organization is “excited by the opportunities this new technology presents” for ACT Health, its employees and its patients.

“ACT Health is focused on delivering quality health care to the Canberra community and surrounding region,” Duggan said. “As part of this, we are always exploring innovative digital solutions to deliver services more efficiently.”
