ACR announces 2016 Gold Medalists

The American College of Radiology (ACR) has announced the recipients of its 2016 Gold Medals. The award has been given to individuals for “distinguished and extraordinary service to the College or to the discipline of radiology” since 1927.

This year’s awards were presented to Walter J. Curran Jr., MD; Lawrence P. Davis, MD; and Charles D. Williams, MD, during ACR 2016, the association’s annual meeting.

“All three of the ACR honorees have provided visionary leadership and extraordinary service, which continue to advance high-quality patient care in the fields of radiology and radiation oncology,” Bibb Allen Jr., MD, chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors, said in a prepared statement. “Drs. Curran, Davis and Williams embody the best in today’s medicine in their work as physicians and in their roles as contributors to the collective good of the profession.”

More information on all three award winners can found in the ACR’s statement.
