Fitzgerald signs on as GM of Richardson Healthcare

Pat Fitzgerald was named executive vice president and general manager of Richardson Healthcare, a newly formed business unit of Richardson Electronics that will focus on high quality replacement parts for the diagnostic imaging equipment market.

Fitzgerald most recently served as president of Dunlee, a division of Philips Healthcare that manufactures replacement tubes for CT, vascular and general radiography.

His purview will include new and refurbished CT tubes, flat panel detectors and MRI amplifier repair, as well as other related products. He will also have oversight of the division’s medical display products, currently under the company’s Canvys division, including PACS display hardware and operating room/surgical displays.

“Pat has demonstrated the leadership and strategic vision to develop and deliver the highest quality OEM and replacement tubes for CT and x-ray equipment,” Edward J. Richardson, chairman and CEO, said in a press release. “Given the heightened need for hospitals to decrease costs in the face of declining reimbursement rates, Richardson Electronics…is in an ideal position to offer replacement parts and services at lower prices than the original equipment manufacturers.”
