The 2015 Thomson Reuters rating of the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR) shows an increase of 24 percent compared to 2014, the ACR announced earlier this week.
Thomson Reuters ratings, which assign an “impact factor” to a journal based on its relevance to the scholarly publishing community, are released annually.
“The JACR’s rapid rise in the rankings reflects our commitment to provide the highest quality research and commentary on behalf of our authors and readers,” Bruce J. Hillman, MD, editor in chief of the JACR, said in a statement. “JACR provides information on topics that were once largely ignored by other journals but have become vital as radiology and the rest of health care rapidly evolve.”
The JACR’s impact factor is now 2.836, No. 32 of all journals in the Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Medical Imaging category. The rating is determined by taking the number of citations and dividing it by the total number of articles over the previous two years.
