Radiologist accused of repeatedly raping a resident files $60M countersuit

The radiologist accused of drugging and repeatedly raping a resident has now filed a countersuit, admitting to a consensual relationship with the resident but referring to the accusations as “malicious, false and salacious.”

The radiologist, Johan Blickman, MD, from the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), filed the countersuit on March 6, according to an updated report from The Democrat and Chronicle.

In the original lawsuit filed by resident Katia Kaplan-List, she said Blickman repeatedly raped her, drugged her and attempted to involve her boyfriend in the murder of Blickman’s ex-wife. Kaplan-List is seeking $30 million in damages.

In his countersuit, Blickman says he and Kaplan-List were involved in a consensual sexual relationship from September 2014 to January 2016. He is seeking $60 million in damages.

Blickman is currently on paid leave from URMC while the allegations are investigated.
