Welcome to RSNA 2016, everyone.

Chicago watched its beloved Cubbies win the World Series earlier this month, and now the city welcomes the imaging industry for another exciting week of breaking news, fascinating presentations and state-of-the-art medical technology. What a fun November for the Windy City!

With another RSNA officially underway at McCormick Place, what are you looking forward to the most this year? For me, it all boils down to one thing: the people.

I’m excited to connect with people from throughout the industry face to face and not via phone calls, voicemails, and emails. I love catching up with old friends and making new ones.

I’m excited to learn from the brilliant presenters who will be there to share their expertise. Whether they are presenting information gathered from years of research, explaining complex policy updates or providing insight into their own personal experiences, I know each and every session will contain important, valuable information.

I’m excited to see all the amazing booths, designed and pieced together by hard-working teams of employees for our benefit. (Years ago, I was part of a team that helped put together elaborate trade show booths, and it was much harder than I could have imagined. Everyone who helped this year deserve a real round of applause!)

And, yes, I’m excited for the end of each day, when we can all interact in a more casual capacity. We’ve all worked very hard in 2016, and it’ll be nice to unwind together.

I hope everyone has a fantastic time this week. Medical imaging is in the middle of hugely significant changes, and attending RSNA each year is a great way for all of us to stay up to date on the latest news and trends.

And just think—before you know it, we’ll all be back here to attend RSNA 2017!
