Siemens names new healthcare leadership team

The German industrial giant Siemens has appointed a new team of executives to run its healthcare business.

Siemens has named Bernd Montag, the current CEO of the Imaging and Therapy Systems Division at Siemens AG to head the company’s healthcare division, replacing Hermann Requardt, who is stepping down after leading business since 2001. Siemens also named Michael Sen chief financial officer and Michael Reitermann as a third executive board member for the unit.

Montag joined Siemens in 1999 as senior product manager for the first generations of multislice CT. He has been president, CT Division, Siemens Medical Solutions USA, and vice president, marketing and sales, MR division, Siemens AG. He holds a doctorate in physics from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and played semi-professional basketball until 1999.

“We are now setting up Healthcare as a separately managed business within Siemens in order to pave the way for an equally successful future in a highly dynamic market and innovation-driven environment,” said Joe Kaiser, president and CEO of Siemens AG, in a statement announcing the changes.
