State senator named independent director of Merit Medical Systems

Utah state senator F. Ann Millner, EdD, has been appointed to be an independent director of Merit Medical Systems, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of disposable medical devices used in radiology, cardiology and endoscopy. She will also serve on the Board’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

“We are pleased to have Dr. Millner join our Board,” Fred P. Lampropoulos, Merit chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “Her vast experience in strategic planning at the university and community levels as well as her expertise in health care policy will provide valuable insight.”

Millner has been a state senator since 2014. She is a regents professor of health administration at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and served as Weber State’s president from 2002 to 2012.

Merit was founded in 1987 and has over 3,000 employees around the world.
