Radiological Society of Connecticut recognizes House Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz

Connecticut House Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz was honored by the Radiological Society of Connecticut for supporting legislation that allows policymakers to track access for patients to imaging services.

“It is crucial that we provide Connecticut residents with access to all aspects of healthcare, including radiology and imaging services, in the most efficient and effective ways,” Aresimowicz said, as quoted by The Bristol Press. “That is why I advocated for legislation that will provide data that we can use to streamline and improve our radiological and imaging services in the state.”

The legislation Aresimowicz supported, an Act Concerning Radiological and Imaging Services, requires the state’s commissioner of public health to submit a report on any effects revisions to Medicare reimbursements may have on “patient access for radiological and imaging services.” More information can be found on the Connecticut General Assembly’s website.

Thomas Farquhar, MD, legislative co-chair of the Radiological Society of Connecticut, said the organization appreciates Aresimowicz’s leadership “in many areas of health care policy,” as quoted by the Bristol Press.
