Singer Kelly Clarkson reveals that she was misdiagnosed with cancer

Kelly Clarkson recently revealed that her on-camera Grammy award-winning acceptance speech back in 2006 was extremely emotional due to the fact that earlier in the day she was told she had cancer.

Fast forward to a day after the event, Clarkson’s doctor informed her that she was misdiagnosed.

“I was like, ‘you completely ruined my entire experience,” she told Billboard Pop Shop Podcast in a new interview. “As a kid watching the Grammys, that was a big dream! It was kind of the worst/greatest day. And the next day was also the worst/greatest day because I wanted to punch someone. I was like ‘who mixes up results? Why wouldn’t you test again?’”

In this new article by SELF, health expert Jennifer Wider, MD, tells reporters that a person being misdiagnosed with cancer happens much more often than people think.
