In December 2016, Marques Davis, a 27-year-old inmate in a prison outside of Witchita, Kansas, claimed that he wasn't feeling right. "It feels like something is eating my brain," he said.
Davis died in April. An MRI showed widespread fungal infection throughout his brain, according to the Washington Post. A CT scan then revealed his brain was so swollen that the upper part was forced down to the lower part.
