RadNet, MemorialCare Health System announce new joint venture

RadNet, one of the country's largest operators of outpatient imaging centers, announced Dec. 18 a new joint venture with MemorialCare Health System, a California-based nonprofit health system. MemorialCare’s more than 200 care sites include five hospitals and a variety of imaging and urgent care centers.

Slated to begin Jan. 1, 2018, the partnership will comprise 34 freestanding imaging centers spanning various cities and counties in Southern California. RadNet will administrate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the facilities. The imaging centers will utilize RadNet’s eRAD PACS.

“We are excited to announce the expansion of our health system partnership model in California with such a high-quality and well-known health system,” Howard Berger, MD, chairman and CEO of RadNet, said in a prepared statement. “MemorialCare is one of the premier providers of hospitals and related health care services in Southern California. With the establishment of this joint venture, our combined network of 34 centers will bring an extensive network of imaging centers providing quality care and easy access to the substantial patient communities we jointly serve. We are also excited to be working with the referring physicians located throughout the communities of Orange County and Long Beach to ensure their patients have access to convenient, cost-effective care.”
