Canon DR software, RadPro mobile x-ray system receive US military cybersecurity certification

Canon USA announced July 11 the RadPRO Soltus 100M Mobile Digital X-ray System from Virtual Imaging has received cybersecurity certification.

The certification pertains to the risk management framework from the United States Department of Defense. Canon reached an agreement to sell more than 100 units of the RadPRO system for field use.

“This certification is the culmination of a successful collaboration among Virtual Imaging, Canon U.S.A., Canon Inc. and the Department of Defense,” said Tsuneo Imai, president Virtual Imaging, a Canon company. “As the United States government has a strict framework in place regarding the cybersecurity of its healthcare devices, Canon worked closely with all parties for a year and a half to ensure that the SOLTUS 100M System met the necessary criteria of the certification process.”

The system is the first medical device to receive the certification as part of the military’s portable digital radiography system project, which aims to improve information security and risk management initiatives.
