Canon Medical Systems receives FDA clearance for Vantage Galan 3T XGO Edition

Canon Medical Systems USA announced Monday that the company has received FDA clearance for its new MR system, the Vantage Galan 3T XGO Edition.

The upgraded system provides a significantly improved signal-to-noise ratio for brain diffusion weighted imaging. According to Cannon, it will help providers “produce higher resolution images for myriad neuro exams in under five minutes.”

The Vantage Galan 3T XGO Edition also comes installed with new software that allows multiple slices to be acquired at once.

“The new Galan 3T XGO Edition with Saturn X Gradient builds on the strengths of its predecessor and expands the versatility of MR even further with faster and higher resolution images, so that physicians don’t have to sacrifice accuracy or patient comfort for speed,” said Dominic Smith, Canon Medical Systems USA’s senior director of CT, PET/CT, and MR business units, in a prepared statement. “With the help of this new advanced gradient and imaging package, health care providers can better meet their patients’ diverse needs, while continuing to provide a quiet and comfortable experience.”
