Carestream Health to display AI, imaging analytics solutions at HIMSS18

Carestream Health announced Wednesday, Feb. 21, that it will be displaying advanced artificial intelligence and imaging analytics software tools March 5-9 at HIMSS18 in Las Vegas.

Carestream’s Clinical Collaboration Platform “incorporates third-party algorithmic results for osteoporosis, lung emphysema, coronary calcification and fatty liver,” according to a prepared statement. Radiology Assistant provides findings to radiologists “a few minutes after image acquisition” using the company’s Coronary Calcium Scoring algorithm, which is pending 510(k) clearance from the FDA.

“With the many challenges facing medical imaging at hospitals of all sizes, achieving a balance between quality and cost is essential,” said Thierry Verstraete, Carestream’s global product manager of Clinical Solutions & Analytics, in the statement. “By using an algorithm-enabled Radiology Assistant, users can boost diagnostic confidence while simultaneously improving productivity and containing costs.”

The Clinical Collaboration Platform also includes Workflow Orchestrator, which helps assign cases to the best possible radiologist based on their location, affiliation and subspecialty.

“Our goal is to offer the tools radiologists need to make an accurate diagnosis while also delivering a radiology report that accurately communicates diagnostic information to physicians,” Verstraete said in the statement. “A diagnostic report can only be considered great if the referring physician thinks it is.”
