FDA clears 3 C-arms from Siemens Healthcare

Siemens Healthcare announced this week that three models from the company’s line of Cios C-arms—Cios Fusion, Cios Connect, and Cios Select—have been cleared by the FDA.

“With the addition of these three new mobile C-arms to the Cios family, Siemens Healthcare is proud to build on our tradition of C-arm leadership,” Martin B. Silverman, Siemens Healthcare vice president of x-ray products, said in a prepared statement. “Our Cios family offers customers a complete product portfolio that meets their needs, regardless of facility type or budget. These expanded mobile C-arm offerings represent another example of how Siemens innovates to solve the daily real-world challenges facing hospitals and surgical centers.”

The company’s Cios Fusion falls in “the medium price segment,” and includes two detector sizes and a touchscreen remote. Cios Connect weighs 547 pounds, giving surgeons the ability to perform numerous applications. Cios Select, meanwhile, is an entry-level C-arm, equipped with a push button interface for simplified use.
