Hitachi Medical announces software upgrade for MRI systems

Hitachi Medical Systems America announced this week that it has released Evolution 5, a significant software upgrade to its Oasis 1.2T MRI systems.

Evolution 5, Hitachi said in a prepared statement, is a “robust software upgrade offering many new features and improvements to increase the performance of the Oasis.” Some of the upgrades the company details include improved image clarity, thanks to an enhanced processing algorithm, and RADAR TIME-of-Flight & Gradient Echo motion compensation.

“We are very excited to provide Evolution 5 to both our current and future Oasis customers,” said Sheldon Schaffer, Hitachi general manager and vice president of the MR and CT business units, in the statement. “This upgrade represents a significant improvement to our Oasis platform, providing enhanced image quality, while expanding the clinical capabilities available to our customers.”

Hitachi noted that the upgrade is free to warranty and service contract customers, and “upgrade workshops” will run through October throughout the United States.
