Siemens Healthineers gains FDA clearance for SOMATOM Force CT system

Siemens Healthineers announced Friday, April 13, that an upgraded version of its SOMATOM Force CT system has gained FDA approval.

This latest version of the SOMATOM Force system features the company’s FAST (Fully Assisting Scanner Technologies) Integrated Workflow, which uses a new 3D camera and artificial intelligence to ensure “automatic, precise and consistent isocentric positioning.”

The system also offers iterative metal artifact reductions and an improved Image Reconstruction System that can reconstruct up to 70 images per second.

On April 4, Siemens Healthineers announced that the FDA had cleared another one of its CT solutions: the SOMATOM Edge Plus CT system.
