Zebra Medical Vision, Intermountain Healthcare collaborate on new advanced algorithms

Zebra Medical Vision, a healthcare company with headquarters in Israel, announced this week a collaboration with Utah-based Intermountain Healthcare to work toward the development of new imaging algorithms. The company also announced a new financing round of $12 million, which was led by Intermountain Healthcare and included contributions from existing investors

“We are privileged that one of the top healthcare systems in the U.S. has placed such confidence in our team and our platform,” Elad Benjamin, Zebra CEO, said in a statement. “In an environment where computing power and machine learning frameworks are becoming a commodity, the ability to quickly and efficiently curate large quantities of data from a world class integrated healthcare provider can make the difference between simplistic tools and insights that can truly add clinical value and positively impact patient care.”

“We are excited by the opportunities that machine learning and computer vision algorithms can provide,” Bert Zimmerli, Intermountain chief financial officer, said in the same statement. “These tools will help us improve patient care, by analyzing imaging data at a large scale for the first time, in addition to textual data.”

Zebra Medical Vision was founded in 2014. Its analytics engine assists providers with analyzing imaging records, and an agreement with Dell Services helps the company get its products in the hands of healthcare providers.
