Technologist wants to ease patient fears about MRI scans with LEGO bricks

Technologist Apollo Exconde has an idea that he thinks can help claustrophobic patients overcome their fear of MRI scans—and it involves some familiar toys.

Exconde designed an open MRI made entirely of LEGO bricks and is now working to get the company to follow through and manufacture the set, according to a report from GoodNews Pilipinas!

By showing patients who are going undergoing their first MRI scan the set, Exconde believes it can help them conquer any fears “one LEGO brick at a time.” His idea is currently up on LEGO’s website so that users can login to the site and show their support by casting a vote.
