The Radiological Society of North America has launched a new “first of its kind” educational tool aimed at helping physicians tackle COVID-19 and other clinical challenges.
RSNA’s Case Collection includes a bevy of resources across subspecialties, offering images, patient info, final/differential diagnoses and discussions. The society and clinicians have carefully reviewed each example, which are easily located on its mobile platform, according to a Wednesday announcement.
A handful of examples cover the COVID-19 pandemic, providing rads across the globe with “a free diagnostic resource to help control this outbreak and get more patients the care they need,” according to the website.
“During this global health crisis, it is vital to present radiologists and other physicians with every resource available to aid in detection and prompt management of this coronavirus,” Editor Mariam Moshiri, MD, a professor and staff radiologist at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, said in a statement. “The peer-reviewed and expedited coronavirus cases in the RSNA Case Collection provide an essential tool to assist our colleagues in recognizing the imaging characteristics of COVID-19.”
RSNA first began accepting cases earlier this year for the new resource, which it says is the first ever to cater exclusively to radiology. Its inviting clinicians to submit more and has a list of in-demand topics.
