Solis Mammography announces launch of new SmartCurve breast imaging technology

Texas-based Solis Mammography has announced the national availability of its SmartCurve breast imaging technology in more than 50 centers across the nation.

Two of the most impactful contributors to pain and discomfort during breast screening mammography are force of compression and pinching of breast. SmartCurve technology, co-developed by Hologic, provides greater comfort and reportedly improves patient experience by 93 percent due to its curved compression surface which mimics the shape of a woman’s breast.

Additionally, SmartCurve technology reduces call backs for secondary screenings by 40 percent and detects an average of 48 percent more invasive breast cancers.

"For decades, Solis Mammography has been shaping the future of mammograms in both the imaging technology innovation, as well as the entire experience for women," Stephen Rose, MD, director of clinical research at Solis Mammography, said in a prepared statement. "We're celebrating women this month by launching SmartCurve technology in all of our centers nationwide. We're continually thinking ahead of the curve to deliver the best breast wellness experience for women.”
