Charity auctions off lunch with Gwyneth Paltrow for breast cancer research, raises $1.4M total

The Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink, an annual fundraiser that includes both an early-morning paddle board race and an elegant party, occurred Saturday, Aug. 4, raising $1.4 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

A lunch with actress Gwyneth Paltrow sold for $55,000 as part of the event’s auction, according to a report from WWD.

The charity’s founder, investor and entrepreneur Maria Baum, first discovered paddle boarding after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went on to establish the fundraiser back in 2012.
