Former mayor works for 15 years to bring MRI suite to hospital

Thanks to former mayor Trevor Marris, Ireland’s Louth County Hospital will get a new MRI suite 15 years after the idea was first proposed. More than £500,000 (approximately $643,235) was raised for the scanner over the 15-year period, according to a report from Lincolnshire Live

Calling the installation of the scanner “very promising,” Marris told Lincolnshire Live that he has spoken to hospital staff and they are “thrilled to bits.”

"I can't thank the public of Lincolnshire enough," Marris said. "People would be amazed where the money came from, it's come from all over."
