Radiologist says he was forced out of job after complaining about workplace bullying

Dr. Thomas Mammen, a radiologist currently working in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, is suing the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) for allegedly forcing him out of his job after he complained about workplace bullying.

Mammen worked at Health Sciences Centre (HSC) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, when he says he was bullied by fellow members of the Radiology Consultants of Winnipeg Medical Corporation (RADCO), according to reporting from the Winnipeg Free Press.

Mammen resigned from RADCO in 2015 due to the alleged bullying. He wanted to continue working at HSC after resigning, but he has said WRHA would not allow him to do so.

In a statement to the Winnipeg Free Press, a WRHA spokesperson disputed some of Mammen’s claims.

"The WRHA takes issue with many of the allegations set forth in the claim and will be responding in due course. We cannot comment about matters before the courts or outside the court processes," the spokesperson said via email.
