Radiologist denied new trial in ongoing employment dispute

The Superior Court of Pennsylvania has denied a radiologist’s request for a new trial over an ongoing dispute with a former employer.

Phillip Edwards, MD, was fired by Quantum Imaging and Therapeutic Associates in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, before his contract expired, according to reporting from PennRecord.  Edwards then filed a lawsuit against the practice.

Before the trial, the court agreed to exclude certain evidence involving one of the radiologist’s former employers. However, during the trial, Edwards mentioned a different lawsuit involving that former employer, highlighting the very topic he had not wanted to be discussed.

Edwards requested a new trial, which was then denied. Court documents from the July 18 ruling can be read here.
