The University of Washington School of Medicine (UW Medicine) and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance joined forces to bring a mammogram van to Mary’s Place, a Seattle shelter that supports women, children and families in need.
UW Medicine shared a video documenting the van’s impact on women who rely on Mary’s Place for shelter.
“Being able to bring the screening to the patient is what's actually going to get the best results,” Julie Gralow, MD, a breast cancer specialist at UW Medicine, said in the video.
