Private equity-backed Rayus Radiology reveals additional expansion plans

Rayus Radiology continues to add additional imaging centers, announcing its second round of expansion plans within a few weeks on Monday.

Backed by private equity firm Wellspring Capital Management, the Minneapolis-based provider is opening two more locations in the Utah communities of Riverton and Springville. The announcement comes after Rayus also announced growth plans in Maine and Minnesota at the tail end of December.

All told, the organization now operates nine locations in Utah with a total of 152 across the country.

"When patients need medical imaging, we are here to provide answers," Ted Kyle, senior VP of strategic growth, said Jan. 17. "With the rapid growth in population, the new centers expand our network of outpatient imaging centers making access to high-quality, timely exams even more convenient for patients."

Rayus Radiology also recently announced it was becoming the official medical provider for the U.S. speedskating, bobsled, skeleton, ski and snowboard teams, several of which call Utah their home state. The new center in Riverton, located in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, opened on Monday, offering MRI, CT and X-rays. Meanwhile, the other outpost in Springville, a bedroom community in the Provo-Orem metro area more than 30 miles farther south, will launch Jan. 24, with a similar complement of services.
