LStar Imaging chooses eRAD for enterprise imaging after long search

After exploring numerous vendors, Texas-based LStar Imaging has selected eRAD, a subsidiary of RadNet, to provide the company with enterprise imaging solutions. Specifically, eRAD will provide RIS, PACS, speech recognition software, physician and patient portals and its RADAR communication platform.

LStar, which specializes in women’s imaging, chose eRAD because they can create “a different experience for both patients and referring physicians,” according to Angie Burger, the company's executive director.

“When the patient can schedule their own appointment online, when the physician can access reports with images immediately, when we can easily run custom reports to know exactly what’s happening—all of this creates optimal healthcare,” Burger said in a prepared statement. “The efficient sharing of accurate information directly results in lower-cost, high-quality care.”

LStar the statement noted, is working with community-area hospitals to “modernize the way clinical data is shared, so that patients have the option of receiving series in an outpatient setting without any concerns about continuity of care.”

“We are extremely honored to be part of LStar’s solution for the community,” Seth Koeppel, senior VP of sales at eRAD, said in the same statement. “We believe our suite of radiology workflow tools will enable LStar to build a strong reputation for high-quality imaging and premier service. It’s always exciting to be part of a disruptive change. LStar certainly has the strategy and know-how to enact a change in how both patients and referring physicians experience imaging."
