2 radiologists honored with RLI's Leadership Luminary Award

The Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) presented its 2015 Leadership Luminary Award to Leonard Berlin, MD, and Bruce J. Hillman, MD, at the RLI Leadership Summit in Wellesley, Mass., earlier this month.

According to the RLI, the Leadership Luminary Award is given to individuals who “have elevated the RLI’s vision in radiology, embodying both leadership and innovation in their actions and legacy.”

“In addition to being outstanding individuals, Drs. Berlin and Hillman have made many significant contributions to the radiology profession,” Frank Lexa, MD, RLI medical director, said in a statement. “Their exceptional experience and exemplary level of leadership in organized medicine is inspirational. The RLI is honored to present them with Leadership Luminary Awards.”

Berlin is a professor of radiology at Rush Medical College and the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He is the author of over 430 scientific publications and a book, “Malpractice Issues in Radiology.”

He has previously been honored by the American Roentgen Ray Society, Chicago Radiological Society and American College of Radiology for his contributions to the world of radiology.

Hillman is a professor of radiology and public health sciences at the University of Virginia. He has been the president of five radiological societies, and since 2003, has served as founding editor of the Journal of the American College of Radiology.
