AMA highlights 9 female physicians, including a New York radiologist

The American Medical Association (AMA) has written about nine women, including a radiologist from New York City, who are working to make an impact for the next generation of female physicians.

The nine physicians highlighted in the article, according to the AMA’s Sara Berg, are “moving medicine by using their platforms as female physician leaders to be powerful advocates for women’s health.”

Radiologist Ami Shah, MD, director of mammography and women’s imaging at New York City Health and Hospitals, is the first female physician covered in the article. Berg writes about an obstetrician in Mumbai, India, who inspired Shah as a child and provides a link to an in-depth interview.
