Charles Apgar named EVP of ACR Center for Research and Innovation

The American College of Radiology (ACR) announced Monday, Oct. 8, that Charles Apgar has been named executive vice president (EVP) of the ACR Center for Research and Innovation.

Apgar previously worked as the center’s chief operations director. In his 15 years with the ACR, he has also helped supervise operations for numerous clinical trials, including the National Lung Screening Trial and the Digital Mammography Screening Trial.

“Charles has been a central figure in the management and direction of large-scale radiology clinical research for more than a decade,” William T. Thorwarth, MD, CEO of the ACR, said in a prepared statement. “His expertise and experience has helped make the Center for Research and Innovation™ the force that it is. We look forward to many more years of his effective leadership as EVP.”
