The Ohio State Medical Association has named Dr. Peter Lafferty the Physician Innovator of the Year.
Lafferty, a partner with Riverside Radiology & Interventional Associates, Columbus, Ohio, received the honor for his work on a workflow IT solution that integrates patient data from the disparate information systems of 26 hospitals served in Ohio. The platform allows the practice’s 79 radiologists to deliver patient-centered interpretation of imaging studies, facilitate subspecialist workflow and accelerate turnaround time.
“It’s really about putting the patient at the top of the pyramid,” Lafferty told Columbus CEO. “We’re giving the highest level of imaging interpretation to all of our patients regardless of facility size.”
The platform had its beginnings at the practice and was further developed by the practice’s spin-off, Lucid Radiology Solutions, which markets the solution under the name RadAssist.
