As an election approaches, leaders in New Brunswick vow to give women breast density information

The election in New Brunswick, Canada, is scheduled for later this month, and the leaders of the two largest political parties are making an identical promise: to ensure mammograms contain information about breast density.

Liberal leader Brian Gallant and Progressive Conservative leader Blaine Higgs both made campaign promises this week to make sure women receive the information they need when it comes to breast density, according to a report from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Gallant indicated breast density will be added to medical reports and letters would be mailed to women along with their results—similar to what reporting legislation requires in the United States—and Higgs said the Progressive Conservatives, if elected, would require physicians to talk with patients about breast density.
