Baylor College of Medicine, Radiology Partners announce partnership

Texas-based Baylor College of Medicine and California-based Radiology Partners, a physician-operated radiology practice, are partnering to provide services to Baylor’s academic hospital, Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Catholic Health Initiatives network hospitals and other community hospitals in the Greater Houston area and Southeast Texas.

The new section, dubbed Baylor Radiologists: A Radiology Partners Affiliated Practice, will be created within the department of radiology at Baylor. Thirty-two radiologists will comprise the practice.

Radiology Practice will provide Baylor with technology and clinical operating abilities and will offer research and publishing opportunities for Baylor faculty, residents and fellows. In turn, Baylor will provide access to key resources to Radiology Partners for advancement of various clinical initiatives.

“This broad-based academic, research, clinical and business affiliation is the first of its kind,” said Rich Whitney, chairman and CEO of Radiology Partners. “The sharing of resources, talent and expertise among the largest private radiology practice and a top university medical center and radiology training program offers both partners exciting opportunities for growth and clinical innovation.”
