FDA clears 3D cone beam CT positioning software

EhmetDx, a Plymouth, Michigan-based medial device manufacturer, has received FDA approval for its 3D cone beam CT positioning software.

The software helps specialists guide the position of the proton beam during treatments. The McLaren Proton Therapy Center in Flint, Michigan, is expected to start using the solution this month.

“We look forward toward patient treatment using our software for positioning now that the FDA concluded that our x-ray positioning system has met the requirements needed for 510(k),” Michael Teicher, founder and CEO of EhmetDx, said in a prepared statement.
