Sheryl Crow announced as national spokesperson for Hologic's Genius 3D MAMMOGRAPHY exam

Hologic has announced that musician and breast cancer survivor Sheryl Crow will serve as a national spokesperson for the company’s Genius 3D MAMMOGRAPHY exam. Crow is known for such songs as “All I Wanna Do,” “Everyday is a Winding Road" and “Soak up the Sun.”

“Early detection saves lives—it's that simple,” Crow said in a prepared statement. “Women need to be advocates for their health, and that means getting annual mammograms starting at age 40 and taking advantage of the best, and most accurate, technologies available. I opted for a Genius exam because early detection is what saved my life—it's a woman's best chance at survival, and it's a chance we all deserve.”

Hologic launched its national campaign to promote the Genius 3D MAMMOGRAPHY exam back in April. Crow will now be a big part of that campaign, the company said in its statement.

“We look forward to working with Sheryl as we continue to spread the message that early detection saves lives,” Pete Valenti, Hologic division president of breast and skeletal health solutions, said in the statement.

Hologic also announced it is donating $30,000 to the Stand Up to Cancer program.
