Surgical platform with real-time MRI guidance to be featured at Pediatric Neurosurgical Conference

The medical device company, MRI Interventions announced its ClearPoint Neuro Navigation System will be featured at the 45th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS)/Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Section on Pediatric Neurological Surgery.

“In pediatric brain surgery, precision, real-time, image guided navigation and device placement are especially important. Pediatric patients and their families benefit from the reduced discomfort and improved patient experience when the ClearPoint System is utilized for navigation," said Wendelin Maners, vice president of marketing for MRI Interventions.

The surgical platform that provides real-time MRI guidance is being used across the country amongst leading children’s hospitals.

“These centers are utilizing the ClearPoint System for treating fragile patients with dystonia, epilepsy or brain tumors,” Maners said. "We are proud to work with innovative pediatric neurosurgeons and children’s hospitals to offer asleep, frameless, minimally invasive surgical options for their young patients, and we look forward to being part of their annual meeting."

The event, scheduled for December 5 to 8 in Orlando, offers a forum for the exchange of ideas, advancing the subspecialty of pediatric neurosurgery in education, research and patient care.
