Advanced Radiology Consultants created a clinical decision support guide aimed at helping physicians and administrators select appropriate imaging exams and ensure the correct ICD-10 codes are attached. Advanced Radiology received more than 750 requests for a copy of the guide, which is equal parts promotional and informational.
"By providing this information to our referring doctors and their staff, we help make them more efficient and cost effective, providing them with an improved experience. That, in turn, improves their patient's experience," says Mario Herrera, physician liaison of Advanced Radiology Consultants. "We are continually focused on maintaining positive relationships with our referring physicians as a partner in each patient's care."
Advanced Radiology recently opened their eighth imaging center in Wilton, Connecticut, offering MRI, digital screening mammography with 3D breast tomosynthesis, ultrasound and other modalities.
RBMA Quest awards recognize excellence in imaging practice marketing, with other 2017 winners including Charlotte Radiology, Wake Forest Baptist Health and Jefferson Radiology. Jefferson Radiology shined brightly in 2017, taking home both awards for patient marketing (over and under $5,000) and the physician marketing campaign award for campaigns over $5,000.
The patient marketing campaign over $5,000 was especially clever: it targeted women turning 40 with a birthday card mailer espousing the benefits of mammography and directing them to Jefferson Radiology. The mailer resulted in a nearly 8 percent increase in mammography services volume, targeting more than 600 new patients a month. The campaign was expanded to women turning 41 and 42 after a cost/benefit analysis showed it was particularly cost-effective.
RBMA comprises more than 2,400 members who work on the business side of the imaging industry, supporting diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology and radiation oncology in settings from small imaging centers to large academic hospitals.
